Software Key Errors

If your computer does not see the Software Key, make sure that the LPT1 port is set to an EPP type of port. This is changed in the computer’s bios (Setup). If necessary, contact your computer manufacture for assistance with changing the bios and if you received a “Turn Key” system, contact your sales person.

If you get the following errors, you should follow the steps below:

If these errors occur, click on "OK" as shown. To resolve the problem, check the connection of the Software Key on the back of your computer. Make sure it is securely fastened and try again. If this does not resolve the problem; a printer may be attached to your Software Key. If so, verify the power on the printer is turned on and try again. If a printer is not attached, attach one to the back the Software Key and power up the printer. (The reason is that your particular motherboard may not be supplying enough energy to the parallel port to read the Software Key. Adding the printer and powering it up will increase energy to the port, thus allowing it to be read by the software.) If this still does not resolve the problem, write down the Extended Error Code and contact Technical Support.
